Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 15, 2026 · Applies to the Hop Doctor iOS app and this website.

Hop Doctor is built to need as little of your data as possible. The short version: your videos never leave your phone, there are no accounts, no ads, and no analytics trackers. The only data that ever leaves your device is a leaderboard entry, and only if you choose to submit one.

Your videos stay on your device

When you import a video, Hop Doctor analyzes it entirely on your device using Apple frameworks and an on-device computer-vision model. Your videos, the body-pose data extracted from them, and the annotated replays are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. The app requests read access to your photo library solely so you can pick videos to analyze.

Face data

As part of full-body pose detection, the on-device computer-vision model estimates the approximate positions of facial landmarks (eyes, ears, nose, and mouth) in your video, alongside 25+ other body points such as shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. These are simple coordinate points used solely to track your body through the jump — the app does not create face templates or faceprints, does not perform facial recognition, and cannot identify anyone.

Use: facial landmark positions are used only on your device, only to analyze your bunny hop (locating your body and head position through the phases of the jump) and to draw the skeleton overlay on your replay.

Sharing: face data is never shared with us or with any third party. The detection model runs entirely on your device and no landmark data is ever transmitted anywhere.

Storage and retention: landmark data exists in your device's memory only while an analysis is being viewed and is discarded when you leave the analysis or close the app. The only lasting artifact is the annotated replay video — an ordinary video with the skeleton lines drawn on it — which is stored on your device and under your control.

Deletion and consent: because no face data ever leaves your phone or is retained by the app, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. You can remove any locally saved replays at any time, and deleting the app removes all app data. If you do not want facial landmarks estimated, do not import videos for analysis — the app performs no detection otherwise.

Data stored on your device

Your Boost Score history, achievements, and settings are stored locally on your phone. Deleting the app deletes this data. We have no copy of it and no way to access it.

The leaderboard (optional)

If you choose to submit a score to the leaderboard, the following is uploaded to Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) public database and is visible to other Hop Doctor users: your chosen display name, your Boost Score, and the category details you provide (such as gender, bike type, and age group). Submitting requires being signed in to iCloud on your device; we never see your Apple ID, email address, or name. Leaderboard submission is entirely optional — every other feature works without it.

To have a leaderboard entry removed, email us at the address below with the display name and score, and we will delete it.
