Filming checklist
- Hold your phone sideways (landscape) and film from the side. The camera should see your full body and bike, side-on, for the entire hop. Portrait videos can't be analyzed.
- Record at 60 fps. It sharpens fast movement (iPhone: Settings → Camera → Record Video → 60 fps).
- Ride left to right across the frame — it lines up with the coaching comparisons.
- Stay in frame. If your head or wheels leave the frame mid-hop, the analysis will suffer.
- Light it well. Daylight works best. Avoid filming into the sun.
- One hop per clip. Keep clips short — about 3 to 6 seconds around a single hop.
- Keep the camera steady, roughly 10–20 feet away. Propped phone or a friend both work.
- Open-face helmet recommended. The tracker uses facial landmarks — a full-face helmet can reduce detection quality.
Common issues
"Analysis failed" or a troubleshooting screen
This usually means the app couldn't track your body confidently — most often from poor lighting, distance, motion blur, or part of your body leaving the frame. Re-film using the checklist above. The in-app troubleshooting screen lists what went wrong with your specific clip.
My score seems wrong
The Boost Score depends on clean pose tracking. Baggy clothing, low light, or an angled camera can throw it off. Film side-on in decent light and compare a few hops — consistency between clips matters more than any single number.
